How does the deposit guarantee apply to linked accounts?

How does the deposit guarantee apply to linked accounts?
Hello, My bank offers me a current account and linked savings and brokerage accounts. In this situation, would the GBP 50,000 guarantee on deposits apply to the sum of the balances in all three accounts? Or would it apply to the balance in each individual account separately? Thank you.
Personal Finance - 1 Answers
People Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
Answer 1 :
Yes. Only the first £50,000 in each institution is guaranteed, so you should think twice about keeping more than that amount in the same bank, even if it's in different accounts. Additionally, the guarantee applies to banks owned by the same group of companies. So, if you have money in two banks which are part of the same group, only £50,000 will be guaranteed.

Answer 1 :
you cannot delete the account if you cannot access it using the password you had before. there is no way to do that. better contact your friends and tell them about your account being hacked and to ignore future emails from that account.
Answer 2 :
isn't there a forgot password button somewhere? then you can reset your password and get into your account xx

Why in the preparing of accounts is money paid into a bank account posted as a debit?

Why in the preparing of accounts is money paid into a bank account posted as a debit?
For example, money paid by a company/business for petrol, could be debited to a petrol account and would be credited to the bank account. Why not vise versa?
Corporations - 1 Answers

Answer 1 :
A debit is one of three things: an increase in an asset a decrease in a liability an expense. A credit is also one of three things: an increase in a liability a decrease in an asset an item of income. Hang on the definitions above...it really will help! Payment for petrol is an expense (so debit to the petrol account) and the corresponding double entry is credit cash, assuming you pay by cheque (it's a decrease in an asset, the asset being the cash you have at the bank). When you pay cash in to your bank account, it's an increase in your asset (you have more cash at the bank). You credit whoever paid it to you. It takes a while for the penny to drop (no pun intended!), but once you get a bit more used to dealing with balance sheets, profit and loss accounts etc it becomes easier to see how the bits of the jigsaw fit together.

How many accounts can you register with a COD 5 product key?
For PC, how many online accounts can you sign up using one registration code? On some games recent games, they've allowed people to sign up to 3 accounts per game copy. Thanks for reading!

Technically as many as you want... problem is when you come to play the game, if there is someone online at the same time it will register that there are 2 (or more) of the same key and won't let you play, and is more likly to ban that key so no one can use it.
Answer 3 :
ONE
Answer 4 :

In accounting, does a 2-for-1 stock split...?

In accounting, does a 2-for-1 stock split...?
Require a journal entry? Also, does the number of shares outstanding decrease?
Other - Business & Finance - 3 Answers
People Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
Answer 1 :
Require a journal entry? since asset neither increased nor decreased, I'd say no but not sure. Also, does the number of shares outstanding decrease? Since it's same amount, I'd say remain the same but not sure.
Answer 2 :
Since you specify 'split', I assume you mean each existing old share is exchanged for 2 news shares, so plainly the number of share outstanding doubles. Since number of shares are factored into Earnings per Shae calculations, plainly the fact of the split has to be recorded somehow, so i would say 'yes' (you would show all the old shares being canceled, new ones issued)
Answer 3 :
Answer: Stock split does not require a journal entry. It only requires memorandum entry (notes). Total number of shares outstanding will decrease but the total stockholders' equity remains the same.

When you open a barclays savings account you need a passport to prove identity at the branch?

When you open a barclays savings account you need a passport to prove identity at the branch?
I have a current account and plan on opening a savings account online. Don't think I need to prove identity as I have logged into my account. What do you think? Which is best savings account?

Answer 1 :
yes or a photo driving licence
Answer 2 :
dont go to barclays, they are crap, try a building society
Answer 3 :
generally, anything gives better interest than Barclays
Answer 4 :
I have 3 current accounts and 3 savings accounts with various banks.. Also have ISA and bonds and unit trusts... Have never had a passport.. I believe I was once asked for a ulility bill. That is all .
Answer 5 :
Go to T, S B.
Answer 6 :
I work for barclays and they give good saving account. You do need photo ID, proof of address and maybe your national insurance (i think if you are getting your wages paid in). A passport, citizen card or driving license should do it.
Answer 7 :
You need to provide ID when opening any bank account. It is the law to prevent fraud taking place.
Answer 8 :
You may need a personal password and logging details to open anaccount on-line. They may ask your current account details for identity incase of fraud. For savings account to my view try a building society. if you live in UK try Newcastle building society. RECOMMENDED BY ME.
Answer 9 :
You need certain forms of identity to open any bank account, usually a current passport or driving licence, and two utility bills/credit card bills or council tax bill as proof of address. Once you already have an account with a particular bank you dont have to keep supplying these forms of identity, but you can merely go ahead and open an additional account. Can you not speak with your investments advisor at Barclays who will, I am sure, point you in the right direction with regard to your savings requirements. I think it depends on what you need - whether you might want to make regular savings or the odd lump sum investment. A mini cash ISA might be an alternative where you get your interest tax free. National savings and investmen ts offer the best interest rate on mini cash isas at the moment. Shop around - but if you particularly want to stay with Barclays, make them do the work to keep your business and pick their brains.
Answer 10 :
I have a current account with Barclays and when I opened an e-savings account I just applied online and didn't need to provide any additional identification (after logging into my account), but when I opened an ISA in the branch they asked for personal and address identification.
Answer 11 :
Barclay's have had to borrow £1.3 Billion from the bank of England. A load of senior execs have resigned. Alarm bells are ringing!!!!!! Wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.
